Dear Parents, Guardians and Carers,
Welcome back to the final term for the 2025 school year. We trust that you had an enjoyable and safe term 3 break.
We have hit the ground running with events happening already in the first 2 weeks of school: Regional Athletics, and school concert rehearsal is ramping up. A big congratulations to our students who competed at the Regional Aths on Wednesday 15th October, we now have 7 students who will be competing at the State Championships on Thursday 6th November. Also a big thank you to all staff, students and parents who contributed to our school review process.
World Teachers Day
This year World Teachers Day is on Friday 31st October. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of our teachers, leaders and support staff for Inspiring Faith and Inspiring Learning every day. We still have a number of seats available for the matinee session and there are 8 seats available for the evening session.
SPECIAL REPORT: World Mental Health Day
World Mental Health Day is marked every year on 10 October as a reminder of the importance of mental health to our overall wellbeing. It is a day that encourages families, schools, workplaces and communities across the globe to start conversations, reduce stigma and highlight the support available for those who may be struggling.
Mental health challenges can affect anyone: children, teens, and adults alike. Recognising this helps us create more compassionate and supportive environments.
Parents and caregivers play a central role in shaping the mental health of their children. World Mental Health Day is an opportunity to pause and reflect on the pressures young people face in today's world and how we can best support them. Whether it's helping children find balance between school, technology, and rest; encouraging open conversations about feelings; or modelling healthy coping strategies ourselves - small steps at home can make a big difference.
By engaging with resources and discussions on this day, families can strengthen their understanding of mental health and contribute to a culture where seeking help is seen as a sign of strength, not weakness.
This Special Report highlights the importance of World Mental Health Day and offers practical suggestions for how your family can acknowledge and support it together.

St. Gabriel's Primary School is a child safe school. We are committed to embedding a culture of Child Safety, adhering to the Victorian Child Safe Standards: Managing the Risk of Child Abuse in Schools and School Boarding Premises (Ministeral Order No. 1359).
We believe that ensuring the safety of the students in our care is an integral part of who we are as a Catholic faith community. The school acts in accordance with the Ministerial Order through policies, procedures, measures and practices, staff training and, ultimately, through the strategies used in working with the students and families within our school community.
We continue to maintain and develop a safe and supportive learning environment where staff are focused on engaging students in meaningful, relevant and challenging learning experiences.
If at any time you have any issues or concerns you feel you need to raise please contact our Principal: Michelle Charlton or our Child Safety Officers: Alison Phillips on 5174 5515.
